Report on West Dorset Partnership Meeting - 2nd Feb 2012

Report on

West Dorset Partnership meeting

Dorchester, 2 February 2012

Three items of some environmental relevance:

Launch of report examining Energy Security "For Whom? For What?" by Dorset based The Corner Shop

Dorset based organisation the Corner House has released a far reaching report, examining the issues of energy security.

How can fossil fuels and uranium be kept in the ground and agrofuels off the land in ways that do not inflict suffering upon millions? Mainstream policy responses to these issues are largely framed in terms of "energy security".

Launch of Communtiies 4 Renewables in SW

A new SW regionally based social enterprise, Communities for Renewables CIC, is being launched to enable communities to generate their own power by developing renewable energy projects. The company has been established by the independent renewables experts Regen SW and specialist developers Green Trust CIC, and will be formally launched to communities at Renewable Energy Marketplace in Exeter on 8 March.
