About the Dorset 3rd Sector Sustainability & Environment Forum

Introduction to the Sustainability and Environment Forum

The Dorset wide third sector forum to enable an effective collective voice for the sector within key county and locality based multi-agency planning partnerships related to Sustainability and Environment issues.

Representatives from the forum sit on a number of groups including

  • Accessability Theme Group
  • Environment Theme Group
  • West Dorset Partnership
  • Dorset Energy Group
  • Economic Theme Group
  • Affordable Housing Theme Group

The forum is part of the wider 'voice' project for the 3rd Sector in the County, which has a number of other forums including Older people, Health and Well-being and the 0-19 forum.

Why should my organisation join?

  • Nominate candidates from your organisation for election as third sector representatives from the forum to influence county and locality level Sustainability & Environment theme planning groups
  • Select third sector representatives to best speak on behalf of your organisation, the sector and sustainability & environment issues at a county and locality level
  • Receive targeted and concise communications about funding, training, events, service developments, consultations, regular feedback from your elected third sector representatives… linked to your own organisation’s work on sustainability & environment
  • Participate in quarterly/half yearly events to hear about, become involved in and influence opportunities and developments arising at a county and locality level related to sustainability & environment

How can my organisation join the forum? Organisations that work in the sustainability and environment field that are not already members are warmly welcomed to join - please contact Paul McIntosh.
