Poole Tidal Energy Partnership - Update

Unfortunatley we didn't get through to the final round despite your fantastic support, but we are pursuing the project anyhow, aiming to bid for funding from other sources, and importantly, getting on with the study, with the help of a great group of Bournemouth University students and staff. We met with one of the local MPs, who is very keen to support our project, and we are planning work with schools and engaging the public to develop our plans in partnership with local people.

This year the Government announced its decision to close the regional Business Link service. WSX Enterprise has delivered the service in Dorset for the last 10 years. As a customer of WSX and Business Link in Dorset we would like to take this opportunity to update you about our plans after the end of the Business Link service on 25th November 2011.

ecopsychology in Dorset

Is our impact on the planet the sign of a serious fracture in mans relationship to his environment, reflected in his relatonship with the earth, fellow humans and most importantly himself? This and similar, rather esoteric questions, are the subject of a number of events in Dorset over the next few weeks exploring such inner psychological issues. 

Proposed Reduction in Feed-in Tariff

The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has today published the results of the comprehensive review of the Feed-in Tariff.


Regen SW Members' received a briefing about the proposed changes this morning and Alasdair Grainger, the FiT review lead from DECC, will be speaking and spending the day with us to take questions at our Renewable Futures Conference on 9 November 2011 in Bath.

Energy Saving Week

24th - 28th October 2011 will be our fifteenth Energy Saving Week and this year we are focusing on how you can take back control of your spiralling energy bills at home.

Could your community host and manage a pilot project to reduce the need to travel and improve access to services in rural Dorset?

Dorset County Council are looking for applications for a number of pilot projects to reduce rural travel and improve access to services. Titled the
Community Travel Exchange (CTE), the purpose is to provide a focal point for the delivery of mobile services combined with
a co-ordination point for outbound travel (including public transport, community transport, car-sharing etc.)

The application process is now open, and open to all communtity based organisations, both informal / formal groups, and town and parish councils
