Dorset Centre for Rural Skills

Aims

Dorset Centre for Rural Skills (DCRS) is an established, not-for-profit, training centre with accredited Social Enterprise status based in north Dorset between Blandford and Shaftesbury.

The Centre runs specialist courses in traditional renovation of buildings such as the use of Cob and Lime. DCRS has a strong environmental ethos and runs courses in Straw Bale Building and an introduction to Permaculture Design.


Courses in rural skills include Welding, Blacksmithing, Hurdle Making Hedge Laying, Stone Carving and Glassblowing.

See the full range of courses available. All courses take place here in our large workshop at the Centre in our converted barn.

The centre also boasts a large hall, glassblowing studio, forge and pottery studio.
