Transition Town Bridport

A based in Bridport working in Transition in Dorset

Aims

Our mission is to generate a sustainable lifestyle in Bridport and the surrounding region by becoming as self-sufficient as possible, whilst remembering we're part of a global community.

About

Transition Town Bridport is a project to bring together the people of Bridport to plan a life beyond dependence on oil, to reduce the carbon footprint of the town and to make it resilient to change.  We'd like as many people as possible to join us - preferably the whole town.

The world is in transition and Bridport must take responsibility for its own destiny.  The era of cheap fuel and food is ending and climate change won't go away - unless we act now.

Transition takes us through changing the way we look at food, transport, trade and the local economy, housing, heating, waste, education and the community.

Bridport is already a great place to live - transition can make it even better, not only for us, but for generations to come.

Check out our website www.transitiontownbridport.co.uk for up-to-date information on what we are doing.  Some regular get-togethers are listed below, but do check just in case we have had to make a last-minute change.

You are most welcome to join us:

1st Wednesday of every month: Green Teas, in the Chapel in the Garden, East St, Bridport, from 2-4pm.  Friendly informal chat with locally produced refreshments.

3rd Thursday of every month: Green Drinks, in The Tiger, Barrack St, Bridport, from 8pm.  Informal chat either on or off subject in a friendly atmosphere.

This is a big project, worthy of our energies, and we need lots of help, so please do join in.

You can explore the website -

and/or:  join our “Interested People” list and add your name to the ever-growing list of people who like to be kept informed via email as to what we are doing

and/or:  join a project group and help to push forward some great ideas.

Just contact us through the website or on admin@transitiontownbridport.co.uk  and we’ll do the rest.
