Bridport and Dorchester communities to be asked how a lottery grant could help them tackle climate change

Do you have ideas for how the community could deal with the potential impact of climate change? Two public drop-in sessions are being held, in Dorchester and Bridport, where community groups and residents will have a chance to help shape a lottery-funded project.

da21 Spring 2012 Newsletter released

da21s newsletter for Spring 2012 is now avaliable for download.

This edition contains a report about Europes first straw bale coldstore built by LUSH in Poole, as well as updates on get togethers, projects and funding news of relevance to green groups in the county.  Many thanks to our newsletter Daniel McCabe for all his efforts, please contact the office if you have any comments or would like to contribute towards the next edition.

in February we enjoyed two very interesting presentations: The first was from Amy Merritt, who is working towards improving local governance to

Three items of some environmental relevance:

Launch of report examining Energy Security "For Whom? For What?" by Dorset based The Corner Shop

Dorset based organisation the Corner House has released a far reaching report, examining the issues of energy security.

How can fossil fuels and uranium be kept in the ground and agrofuels off the land in ways that do not inflict suffering upon millions? Mainstream policy responses to these issues are largely framed in terms of "energy security".

Feed in Tariff update - CSE newsletter on Community Energy

The Centre for Sustainable Energy has published its latest newsletter, part of which includes an update on the Feed In Tariff reproduced below. The newsletter is attached to this article.

Co-operative Community Energy Challenge

The Centre for Sustainable Energy and The Co-operative have announced a new initiative from which is being launched on February 1st. It’s called The Co-operative Community Energy Challenge and forms an integral new element of The Co-operative’s Clean Energy Revolution campaign.
